The Bus Tour

We had an exciting day yesterday , we had a bus full of 50 women stop into our store! It was crazy but a lot of fun. We took days to get ready and had everything in order and the shop never looked so good. They hit us hard but we enjoyed their business and they were all so friendly. We had a full staff with some of our own customers. We had our very own, Sherry, who does our long-arm quilting join us and local pattern designer, Karen DuMont.We also had some of our great customers Marylin and Elane. We had lots of fun and hope to do it again soon !

WHATS BEEN GOING ON !

     I know I haven't posted in awhile been busy, busy, busy here! We got brand-new sewing tables! They're amazing! They're from Kola and you will have to come and check them out! We have been moving stuff like always. We got new quilts hung up to look at for inspiration ! STILL MOVING THIINGS AROUND!

If you haven't been in lately we have been moving things around trying to get ready for the new bernina displays to come and yes it has been alot of work! We just seem to have way too much fabric. And yes i know what your thinking we can never have too much fabric! But it seems that every time we get it all put away more comes in ! It seem to be never ending but you know what that means... You have to come shop shop shop !! We have more Christmas fabric.. Yes CHRISTMAS FABRIC!!!! It about that time... don't think you have plenty of time cause it will be here before you know it. We have " charlies brown Christmas " and " Hot Chocolate". The hot chocolate line comes with an apron panel that we are kitting up as we speak !!  We also have some really cute advent calenders and there going fast ! ****SPOILER ALERT!There may or may not be a sale coming up but if i were you i would be watching my email ..... GRAY FABRIC!

So I'm not sure if you knew this or not but gray is the new thing, well it is in our shop. We have more grey then we know what to do with. As you can see we have pink and grey, yellow and grey, orange and grey and purple and grey. If I was saying that out loud I'd be out of breath! I'm on gray overload! And another thing is gray spelled GREY or GRAY! Comments are welcomed I really would like to know ! We been busy moving things around! Were on fabric overload we have more fabric then we know what to do with. And you know what that means you have to come buy some. I look forward to seeing you all.

Savannah is here !

 I'm (Sabrina) finally back and i hope you ladies missed me as much as I missed you! Not only am I back but i brought Baby Savannah with me. I think she is the cutest baby ever but that is just my opinion but you'll just have to come in and see for yourself! If you haven't heard we did close down our white stone store. Its not all bad it means we have tons of more fabric. We have a lot more clearance fabric. If you don't come in your just missing out. FABRIC YAY!

 If you haven't had the chance lately to come in the shop you really should because
not only have we moved things around but we have tons of new fabric! Our website displays some of it but you cant really see it all unless you come in. I know it finally warm and you can get outside and enjoy the weather! No one happier then me its finally spring but if you ask me it already feels like summer. So when you wanna escape the heat come in the shop and check out all the new things we have!

BLOCK OF THE MONTH!

We have two block of the months coming up. The first one is SEW SPOOKY! Its starts this month but its not to late to join! Betty Pompey is teaching the class and for those of you that have taken a class from her before know how amazing she is. As you can see above our very own Rae has made up some of the bigger blocks and she says its not hard at all! The best thing about it is you can use scraps for most of the quilt. That's exactly what Rae did and doesn't it look great ?
           The other block of the month is AMISH WITH A TWIST II ! We haven't set a date on the start of that class but it will be to come. Our very own Linda made the quilt and its beautiful. Its one of a kind! The fabric should be here any day now. If you have any interest in doing any of the block of the months please come in the shop and sign up !

MARCH MADNESS!

Its March Madness here at the blue crab and no I'm not talking about basketball I'm talking about a SALE! Just about everything in our store is on sale. If you don't come in then your just plain missing out on the madness! You still have plenty of chances to get great deals the sale goes till the 30th which is Saturday! So please come in! Rae is here two days this week she here today which is Tuesday and Thursday! So just another reason to come in !
     Sharon and I took design works training two weeks ago and learned a lot. We used our knowledge to use paint works and i have to say myself it is amazing ! As you can see we painted on a onesie and it is the cutest thing ever!We still have some learning to do but we will continue to use design works and learn all about it so we can share our knowledge with you ladies !

Its Sunday and yes were open! Like Ive mention before we have our foot book on the first Sunday on every month! This Sunday we are doing foot #24 the open embroidery foot! And as you can see lots of people came out. I encourage any of you ladies interested to come out next month!

          We got new Owl fabric in that's just darling! There two panels and free pattern to make a quilt! At this very moment Susan is at home making the quilt so ill post a picture as soon as its done! But we do already have a kit made up for anyone who wants one! Susan might take a little longer to make the quilt because she came now with a cold! Poor grandma we had to send her home yesterday so she wouldn't get any of us sick. For those of you who were wondering Steve had his MRI done and he will find out Monday whats all going on with his knee. Lets all hope everything fine, because if not who will fix our machines?! I know ladies its a horrible thought so please keep Steve in your thoughts! I cant seem to think of anything else to share with you guys expect come and see us!

FABRIC FABRIC FABRIC!

Its another day at the shop and were working hard like always! A little PSA announcement  for all you ladies. If u have the new windows 8 software and V5 software go to the Bernina site.  Currently Window 8 will not support V5.
      In more exciting news we have some new fabric you ladies should come check out. We have some Mardi Gras fabric.Yes I know it has already past but doesn't mean you cant get ahead start on making something for next year, or maybe you just really like the fabric! We also have St. Patrick day fabric! Which is coming up soon,  so come in and get some! We always have some really cute flower fabric. And a little out of the box But  we have some LLama fabric. Which I think is just adorable. (Its going fast though - Linda and Susan are BOTH making the same quilt!

          Our Benartex  fabric rep was here this morning, and we bought some really cute fabrics ! For all you civil war fans we also ordered the new line of  Jo Morton fabric. - some Riley Blake and some other really cool stuff...  But no worries i will let you know when new fabric comes in!
          If you ladies remember me posting about the pillow case dresses Rae was planning on doing. She picked a date its going to March 10th which is a Sunday from 1 to 5. So come in the store and sign up now ! It for a great cause!

        It was raining yesterday so that ment the dogs were in here. Buster and Buster's pet Buster Jr. If you ladies havent met Jr. yet hes just adorable as can be and very hyper. He seems to be the opposite of Buster! They both were here yesterday to greet the people you came out in the gross weather !

Sale Day!

    So its a beautiful day outside but i was right Virginia is tricking us because tomorrow its suppose to be a wintry mix. Doesn't make much sense to me but id enjoy the weather today because its not going to be so nice tomorrow. Were having our sale today for the green club members and tomorrow Sunday and Monday it will be open to everyone. So please take advantage and come in. Once again everything will be 25% off! Hopefully the weather doesn't stop you ladies from coming in.
         Poor Steve was gardening yesterday and hurt his knee, he is wobbling all around the store. No worries ladies he is still fixing machines! I suggested we get him one of the electric scooters to ride around on. He didn't think it was as funny as i did! But come in and to cheer him up ! I hope everyone enjoyed there valentine's day !

Another week has come and gone and it seems to be warming up outside. Spring time seem to be approaching fast or it could just be the wacky Virginia weather playing tricks on us again. Were gearing up this week for our grand president day sale. The sale will be Feb.16th to the 18th. Every thing is our store will be 25 percent off !! THE HOFFMAN CHALLENGE

The challenge is back! Just in this week is 2013 hoffman challenge. For those of you who dont know every year hoffman puts out a fabric and they challenge you to use that fabric to make something amazing. The third Sunday of the month we have a sewing day with Betty and Susan to get caught up on the blocks of the month or any other project you ladies might have. Sabrina's first quilt

The New Year has come and gone and we have been so busy. I can’t help but wonder what happen to January. But February is here and we have lots to share. If you ladies haven’t noticed I'm (Sabrina) back in the shop and working hard. If you haven’t seen me yet please come by and say hi! I have finally gotten around to making my first quilt which I posted to the right side. I used  printable fabric paper for the picture blocks. Its super easy to use all you have to do is pick a picture and print it on the printable fabric paper,which you can get at both of our stores. It was lots of fun but I will admit that I got good use out of our new seam ripper "seam-fix". If you haven’t gotten yourself one yet I highly recommend it. It even comes in my new favorite color pink! Speaking of pink Valentines Day is right around the corner and we've gotten plenty of pink and red  fabric to go around!

It's Tuesday which means Rae is running the aisles of our Richmond store. She is hyper as always and admires our new baby fabric and the quilt that goes along with it. If your in love with the quilt and fabric just like we are, we already have kits all made up. I’m even going to try to get the new Great Grandma to be (Susan) to make my baby one! 
Rae is also excited about the pillow case dresses she is making for girls in Haiti. She is going to try real hard to make an event out of it where we can all get together and make pillow case dresses. Which we will keep you updated on. Well back to work I go check in soon for new updates.
