Ok so here goes nothing. Susan told me to come away from the 19th century and jump on the blog and keep everyone updated on all the newest & latest news between both shops. After the Holidays the Richmond store will be opening there doors 2 Sundays a month so anyone in need of help or company can come in and sew!!!! And who knows I may even open the White Stone location up oonce a month so I can get some of my own projects done!!!!!
There are lots of new Fabrics arriving monthly if not weekly! We have rearranged the store again in Richmond and are displaying our batiks back on the wall as they were when we moved. They look really good all together. Makes me drool in one spot instead of all over the store.
Well I will be back soon.
Happy Sewing to you all!

Patti Carey in Richmond!!!!

Patti Carey will be in our Richmond Store
November 8th - 1-PM-3PM
for a FREE lecture demo & Trunk Show

Patti is the Vice President – Public Relations for Northcott, where she has headed up the marketing/sample department since 1986.  This includes liasing with the various quilting magazines, book publishers and quilt designers to provide current collections of fabric for editorial projects, as well as co-ordinating Northcott’s pattern program to support the new fabric collections.

Patti is married and has 2 boys, age 20 & 18.  She recently published a quilting book, entitled “A Taste of Napa Valley”.  She is a regular contributor to The Quilter magazine and the Fons & Porter group of publications, and has had projects published in several quilting magazines.  In her spare time, she travels to quilt guilds to lecture and teach.

LecturesFrom Fiber to Fabric

Using slides, Patti describes the design and printing process of quilting fabrics.  A Question & Answer period is followed by a short show-n-tell in which Patti shows a selection of quilts made with Northcott collections.

                        Interesting Quilts From Unusual Fabrics

Have you ever wondered what to do with those panels, patches, stripes and scenics that you see in the quilt shop or have in your stash.  Using a trunk show, Patti will spark your creativity and fill your head with ideas on how to use those unusual fabrics.

MOVING UPDATE

WHEW...Steve Guy is in the new space!!  He is not totally orgainzed, BUT as you can see he is getting there.  Machines are being completed and he is actually getting some of the really tough repairs done!!

For those of you who have not met CHRISTY, she is our new Tech Services Coordinator - her job?  to keep Steve focused on getting your machines in and out in a timely manner AND keeping him organized.  She has been working hard at getting the parts inventory in system and just generally keeping Steve on track.

The little "kitchenette" is complete and in fact Steve hooked up the dishwasher today.

My (Susan) office is being moved this week - the electric is hooked up and I will hook up the new computer system somettime this week. The sign guy is coming this week to discuss the outside signage .  Slowly, but surely we are getting everything in order to move as soon as we can.

Ill leave you with a  picture of the new Tech shop.
